Linux Release Party Oct 31th 2009

The Dutch Hobby Computer Club HCC (http://www.hcc.nl/) has started the 'Platform Linux'. Purpose of this platform is to bundle all knowledge, currently available within the HCC sub-groups (regions and special interest groups) of the operating system Linux. This knowledge will be combined with the know-how of organizations like Ubuntu NL, the Polder Linux User Group (PLUG), Internet provider BIT and NLLGG. Another purpose of the platform is the possibility to enable the contact between Linux users. To enable this a dedicated website will be created, and this winter the first yearly Linux Event will be organized.

The Platform Linux has been created to bundle the efforts of all Dutch Linux users. The platform will be open to starters, as well as for experienced users. Both HCC members and non-members can create an account on the website in order to exchange experiences related to their Linux systems. In this way starters with questions related to Linux will be able to contact experienced Linux users.

Activities

The newly created website http://www.hcc-linux.nl will be the central place where many Linux-related events, organized by among others the regions and special interest groups of HCC, will be published. This site will also be the place where the user can find tips and tricks related to the usage of Linux, and to get in touch with other (Dutch) Linux users.

HCC Linux Themadag

The first activity of 'Platform Linux' will be the "HCC Linux Themadag" at 'the Reehorst' in Ede (see http://www.hcc-linux.nl/). This special event will among others host a Linux Install Party. CAcert has been invited to perform assurances during the day, as well has the opportunity to make itself known to the public, as CAcert will have their own booth.
